The Tigers Take the Field

The real mark of spring is here: the opening day for the Detroit Tigers. It happens today, in breezy 45 degree weather, with a chance of snow showers. We commence baseball season in true Detroit fashion; it’s not for the meek. And while those Tigers will take the field at 1 EST against the Kansas City Royals, Chrome Bumper Films got to hang with a different kind of animal, a different kind of celebrity. Check out our behind the scenes footage with Schicka, the one, the only, the true star of The Hangover. Mike Tyson, Bradley Cooper – we have respect. But let’s be honest, if we were all in a room with Schicka, as we were, she’s the only one who’s allowed to move (and the right arm of her trainer). Here’s why.. Continue reading article →

Yesterday tickets officially went on sale for Lollapalooza 2014, of course without a full line-up on the table, and all that remains now are VIP passes you can pick up for a mere $1k. While the Early Bird, 3-day & 1-day passes all flew from the shelves faster than you can say, “Your website is down”, today we find out why. Google Glass Gets Stylish

Obviously we’re all kind of intrigued by Google Glass. The hype and inaccessibility alone are reasons to want the new(ish) technology. But for those of us who actually care about not looking like tremendous dorks have probably found our internal voice saying, “Eh, but they look lame”. Well, no more. Google Glass is teaming up with famed-frame-maker Luxottica. What it means is that Google Glass will be available in styles by brands like Ray Ban & Oakley. Just remember they will still run you at least over $1k. So maybe just stick to hundred dollar wayfarers and looking cool at night. Read more here. Continue reading article →

Easy Listening / Step Rockets

Hailing from the Twin Cities, Step Rockets is a 4 piece indie band, “exploring psychedelia, modern hooks, and fat grooves”. At least that’s what they think. Their sound feels at home with contemporary indie rock, but has hints of nostalgia aligning with Michael Jackson and Thin Lizzy. ‘Kisser’ hit #1 on Hype Machine just 13 days after its release. Listen here and you’ll know why. Keep up here.

The Selfie: Now There’s a Camera for That

While we all love, in life, realizing that the problem we just discovered we have: there’s an app for that. Selfies are perfected with photo-editing tools like Camera+ and Instagram filters, but the real problem with the pics is the actual quality. Samsung would like to present the hardware to fix your selfie-problems: the NX Mini. What’s the big deal? Well it’s tiny (so remember to superglue the thing to your hand whilst out hitting the bottle), but it’s best feature, is that it’s a mirrorless camera. While you can see what you’re taking a picture of (yourself via the rotating screen), your photo is being taken by a spectacular little high quality lens. It’s on sale now, and starts at about $450. Find out more at The Verge.
