Detroit Gets Some New Construction

Leave it to a sports team to revitalize a city. The first visuals of the new Red Wings arena were published on Sunday revealing not only a stunning new stadium, but plans for a whole new neighborhood surrounding it. The development will feature the home of the pro hockey team, plus hotels, residential and offices. First phase projected to be done in 2017. #tourismDetroit. Fingers crossed. Mesita is back, and they’re getting even better. Weaponize your happiness? We don’t know what it means, but we’re digging the tone. In the same song, ‘The Villain’, we get more magic on the lyrics front with this gem: ‘This is how you become the villain.’ Noted. Detropia, the Detroit Documentary

While Detropia was released nearly 2 years ago, the documentary is still making waves. The film, which artfully depicts the realities of the economic and crime challenged city, has been nominated for a news & documentary Emmy. The film is now also available to be seen on Netflix. In their new album Memoirs Of A Murderer, KING 810 confront the environment that created them: notoriously economically depressed and crime-ridden Flint, Michigan. Fittingly, that is where their ominous new video for “Fat Around The Heart,” which was directed by the Detroit-based John “Quig” Quigley of Chrome Bumper Films, takes place.
