Detroit Gets Some New Construction

Leave it to a sports team to revitalize a city. The first visuals of the new Red Wings arena were published on Sunday revealing not only a stunning new stadium, but plans for a whole new neighborhood surrounding it. The development will feature the home of the pro hockey team, plus hotels, residential and offices. First phase projected to be done in 2017. #tourismDetroit. Fingers crossed. Detropia, the Detroit Documentary

While Detropia was released nearly 2 years ago, the documentary is still making waves. The film, which artfully depicts the realities of the economic and crime challenged city, has been nominated for a news & documentary Emmy. The film is now also available to be seen on Netflix.
