Easy Listening / Jessie Ware

Jessie Ware‘s follow up to her debut album comes out on October 6. Entitled ‘Tough Love’, and featuring a song of the same name (listen here), the artist released the line-up of the new record yesterday. Detroit Gets Some New Construction

Leave it to a sports team to revitalize a city. The first visuals of the new Red Wings arena were published on Sunday revealing not only a stunning new stadium, but plans for a whole new neighborhood surrounding it. The development will feature the home of the pro hockey team, plus hotels, residential and offices. First phase projected to be done in 2017. #tourismDetroit. Fingers crossed. Overheard / Mesita

Mesita is back, and they’re getting even better. Weaponize your happiness? We don’t know what it means, but we’re digging the tone. In the same song, ‘The Villain’, we get more magic on the lyrics front with this gem: ‘This is how you become the villain.’ Noted. We usually refer to 23 year old girls who over abuse the term “like” for that kind of advice. But we’re listening Mesita.

Detropia, the Detroit Documentary

While Detropia was released nearly 2 years ago, the documentary is still making waves. The film, which artfully depicts the realities of the economic and crime challenged city, has been nominated for a news & documentary Emmy. The film is now also available to be seen on Netflix.
